The Life in Tofino & Ucluelet B.C.

Tofino and Ucluelet offer what's known among locals as "life on the edge"-the west edge of Vancouver Island, the west edge of British Columbia, and the west edge of Canada. Life on the Edge is litterly "on the edge" of BC, but also a vibe of arts and culture, a vibe of friendly people, a way of life, a way of nature and elements, the edge represents a place, people & nature coming together to discover, learn, see and play within Mother Nature's greatest, most un-spoiled playground on earth! Weather is also always "on the Edge" ever changing, and unpredictable which offers guests no choice but to be spontaneous and go with the flow in regards to what Mother Nature decides to serve up for each day!

On the edge of BC sits the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Home to the world-renowned Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, both Tofino and Ucluelet share the long sandy beaches that lay within the national park. The scenery within this region is breathtaking, from West Coast sunsets, to seascapes of crashing surf, rugged coast and endless beaches.  To the north of Pacific Rim National Park is Tofino, to the south is Ucluelet. Both quaint little villages possess a vibe of simplicity and character.

Once timber and fishing town's, Tofino and Ucluelet today are increasingly popular tourist destination's. Located near the entrance to Clayoquot Sound and Barkley Sound, Tofino and Ucluelet have miles of sandy beaches, stands of old growth timbers, and are abundant in wildlife. The activities are endless from the annual migration of Grey Whales in the spring, Hot Springs Cove tours year round whale, sea lion and bear watching trips, and the much sought after "surfing beaches" are just a few of the attractions. Tofino and Ucluelet's harbour bustles with local fishermen and is the launch point for numerous sea kayaking fishing and whale watching tours.

The community of Ucluelet recently voted in New York Times "top 31 places to see in the world" is known for its natural beauty and small town charm. Situated on the same coastline as Tofino, Ucluelet is growing in popularity amongst tourists. The surfing beaches within Pacific Rim National Park are shared by both Tofino and Ucluelet. The recently developed "Wild Pacific Trail" has brought more and more guests each year who are awe inspired by the creation of what some call the most amazing nature trail on earth! The Wild Pacific Trail hugs the coastline with boardwalks through giant timbers and rainforests skirting the rocky rugged coastline. Each viewing platform is situated in prime location to view Gray Whales passing by in the spring, abundant marine wildlife and vistas of amazing sunsets in the summer. Situated amongst old-growth backdrop of ancient cedars and spruce fringed boardwalks are viewing platforms scattered throughout the trail making way for the ultimate views for storm-watching from November through February. From surfing beaches, to some of the very best places to storm-watch, abundant wildlife, eco-tours/day-trips, west coast cuisine, discover why visitors to the Pacific Rim keep coming back year after year!
